about
I was inspired to write this song by my favorite DJ - Earle Bailey. It's my take on the history of rock and roll radio DJs on the radio. Earle likes the tune and has played it on his Deep Tracks channel on SiriusXM radio! What a kick!
lyrics
If it’s rock ‘n roll you really need, Well it started out with Alan Freed
He would spin the vinyl all night long. We would tap the beat and learn the song
Tell me what the king of the moon doggers is playing
And I’ll tell you what the people are saying
At the Coronation Ball. That is all
Well, lay your hands on the radio, and Bob Smith will make it glow
Cruising down on Main Street, Talk of peace and keeping the beat
The Midnight Special was a beacon in the night
If you clap for the Wolfman, everything all right
What’s that on the Wolfman line? (Do lang do lang do lang) He’s so fine
Earle Bailey, won’t you put me on the radio
Earle Bailey, don’t you know know know
Earle Bailey, won’t you put me on the Sirius radio
Oh Oh Oh radio
Come 19 and 67, we gonna turn it up to eleven
Big Daddy just let it go. Free form revolutionary FM radio
Tom Donahue, won’t you take us down
Lose the old top 40 sound
Yeah, FM’s so high brow. No static now. No static now. No static now
Earle Bailey, won’t you put me on the radio
Earle Bailey, don’t you know know know
Earle Bailey, won’t you put me on the Sirius satellite radio
Oh Oh Oh radio
Well the tracks are deep and the reception clear
The music rocks and the banter makes me smile
But still sometimes I miss the static
And the “SUNDAY SUNDAY US30 DRAGSTRIP” that brought me here
Earle Bailey, won’t you put me on the radio
Earle Bailey, don’t you know know know
Earle Bailey, won’t you put me on the Sirius satellite radio
Oh Oh Oh
Casey Kasem, Dick Clark, Alison Steele, Hal Jackson, Murray the K, I remember Tami Bennett, Marian Seymour, and oh yeah, Marty Reimer Reimer, Reimer, Reimer
Earle Bailey, won’t you put me on the radio
Earle Bailey, don’t you know know know
Earle Bailey, won’t you put me on the Sirius satellite radio
Oh Oh Oh radio

Sonny Bill Glover is a performing singer/songwriter with an unconventional approach. His influences are broad. The lyrics
